Barefoot Workshops: telling stories that make a difference.

Here’s a Clarksdale documentary film, ” A Life of Service” off of the City website.  Check out all Clarksdale documentary films here.

“A Life of Service” is about Clarksdale civic leader Bertha Blackburn, and it also features her friend Cozetta White.  At an early age Bertha learned the importance of giving back to her community.  Throughout her life she tirelessly committed to improving the lives of others in her community, and that is a wonderful inspiration for us all.

The film is by Leah Overstreet, Mazen Al Maskati and Michel Ruhamya.  It was produced by Barefoot Workshops and Blue Magnolia Films under the instruction of  Chandler Griffin, Edward Symes, Julia Kumari Drapkin and Jess Reynolds   in a two-week long documentary film making workshop in September, 2009.
