The Hal Fiser honorary Arts & Culture District sign was just mounted in historic downtown Clarksdale.  Mounted by Clarksdale Public Utilities, the sign is located on E. 1st Ave. across the street from The Fiser Agency, the real estate and insurance firm Hal created and worked out of for much of his adult life.

Hal was a longstanding Clarksdale businessman, and his well known leadership throughout the community was most appreciated.  He was born in Kentucky, and Hal graduated from Murray State University and got his master’s degree from the University of Mississippi.  He moved to Clarksdale in 1950 to teach high school science and to coach basketball. He later served in the United States Army.

He married Harvey Ross Young and soon after he found interest in the real estate and insurance business. He opened the Hal Fiser Agency to serve Clarksdale for more than sixty years.
